ATTENTION 2014+ OWNERS & DEALERS:
The information provided below is still 100% accurate, however, HD has taken away the ability to “flash” the radio at the HD dealer with the Digital Tech.
An aftermarket scantool is now required to complete this task. We sell this scantool! Call us at 605-274-3535 or email email@example.com to purchase your scantool today!
NOTE: CVO models do NOT require a flash.
THE FLASH MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE YOU INSTALL ANY AFTERMARKET PRODUCTS. THIS ENSURES THAT YOU HAVE A WORKING RADIO FLASH AND DEALER SUPPORT, AS WELL AS ALEVIATES POSSIBLE INSTALLATION DIFFICULTIES.
If you are attending an event, please verify with us first as we my be able to flash your radio for you, and alleviate some potential hassle and additional costs.
The information below has worked very well for us in recent testing. We will continue to update the info as information progresses.
Always verify AFTER the flash that your music has a more flat and accurate sound versus the heavy bass that is on the standard radio flash. You will also have a fade option that does NOT allow you to adjust front to rear. This is normal.
Make sure to update your radio to the latest version. The HD link is posted below.
Please ask your technician to flash the bike for “2 AMP ON, 8 SPEAKERS ON, as shown below.
With this flash, you will lose the ability to control front/rear fade. These two flashes are known to Soundz to supply the most FLAT EQ curve available at this time, which allows us to obtain the best possible sound quality of your system.
IF flashed for 2 AMP ON, 8 SPEAKERS ON, you will have an error for each amplifier not found in the canbus system. This will only be noticed if you look for trouble codes, and does NOT affect anything.
Please note that ALSO Harley has updated the operating system for the radio so depending on when the last OS update was completed on the radio they WILL have to have the Harley update the OS to the new version. Not doing so may disable features like Bluetooth, Intercom etc. This OS update is completed via the USB port on the deck with a USB stick and the update downloaded from the Harley Technicians site. This OS update is typically completed at no charge by Harley to Harley Owners and takes about 6-10 minutes.
We will continue to do our best to stay up to date with the changes from Harley as they happen and continue to get you the most up to date info ASAP.
